He dwells with us
It is the plan and purpose of God to have fellowship with man who He created in His own image. The second stanza of Hymn 52 brings to our attention that besides hearing our cries which we discussed yesterday, He also dwells with us. That is, He is not far from us. Although He has guaranteed us His presence, it is expected from us to be willing to abide in Him. It was in this light that our Lord Jesus admonishes us to abide in Him so that we can bear fruits and do great things (John 15:4). What are some of the implications of His dwelling with us? One is that He goes with us wherever we go. He is with you when you go to your workplace, to the exam hall, that job interview, and even when you seem to be alone. Two is that because He dwells with us, there is no need to entertain any form of fear with the understanding that the one with us is more than those against us and that no weapon whatsoever fashioned against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Three is that, although He may appear silent, He is never absent because He has made His home in us. That is, He is never an occasional visitor because He has His permanent residence in us. However, to maintain this dwelling, there must be a willingness to remain holy and chaste because no matter how little the sin, it cannot come near the Father. Beloved, know that the best thing that can ever happen to a man is to experience Christ dwelling in Him. Are you ready for this?
Prayer point: Oh Lord, now I know that you dwell with me, help me to jealousy guide this relationship in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
